he Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is all set to launch a housing scheme on Saturday (January 2) for the sale of over 1,300 flats mostly in the High-Income Group (HIG) and Middle-Income Group (MIG) categories. The flats for sale are at Dwarka, Jasola, Manglapuri, Rohini and Vasant Kunj localities of the national capital.Note that after three consecutive unsuccessful housing schemes, DDA is hoping these spacious flats situated in well-connected areas of Delhi elicits a good response. A total of 1,354 flats will be launched out of which 230 are HIG flats in Dwarka, Vasant Kunj, Jasola, and 704 are MIG category flats in Jasola and Dwarka.
Around 275 flats in Manglapuri and Dwarka, have been set aside for the economically weaker sections (EWS). The remaining fall under Low-Income Group (LIG) category flats in Rohini. The decision to launch the scheme was taken earlier this week during an online meeting of the authority chaired by Delhi Lt Governor and DDA chairman Anil Baijal.The scheme will be launched online through newly developed AWAAS software of DDA and applications will remain active until February 16, 2022, the authority said. The scheme is linked to the credit-linked subsidy scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Housing for All (Urban).

he Delhi Development Authority has launched a special housing scheme for about 18,000 flats of different categories at various locations including Dwarka, Rohini, Jasola, Vasant Kunj, Pashchim Vihar and Narela.The last date to apply for DDA Special Housing Scheme is February 7, 2022.
According to the DDA, 202 high-income group 3BHK flats are available in Vasant Kunj, Jasola, Paschim Vihar and Dwarka. Another three high-income group 2BHK flats are available in Vasant Kunj, while 976 mid-income group 2BHK flats are available in Dwarka, Narela and Rohini.In addition, 11,452 low-income group one BHK flats and 5,702 flats for economically weaker sections are part of the scheme.

Eligibility for applying in scheme:
- The applicant must be a citizen of India;
- He should have attained the age of majority i.e. an applicant should have completed 18 years of age as on the date of submitting the application;
- The applicant must not own any dwelling unit (including residential plot)/flat in full or in part on lease hold or freehold basis in Delhi, New Delhi or Delhi Cantonment, either in his/her own name or in the name of his/her spouse or in the name of any of the dependent relations including unmarried children.
- Family means spouse and dependent relations including unmarried children.
- Both husband and wife can apply for flats separately subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions with the stipulations that if both are found to be successful only one shall be allotted a flat.
- One person can submit one application only either in his/her own name or as a joint applicant.
- A person who has already been allotted a plot/house/flat by the DDA or any other land-owning agency in Delhi, irrespective of size, shall not be eligible to apply for another flat under the scheme;
- There is no income criterion, except for applicants applying for EWS flats. The applicant can apply according to his/her requirement and affordability;
- The income of applicants applying for EWS flats should not exceed Rs.1 lakh per annum.
- The applicant should have an account in any bank and the particulars must be filled in the application form. It is assumed that the bank has followed KYC norms of RBI in respect of such account;
- Applicant must have PAN allotted under the provisions of the Income Tax Act and the same should be quoted in the application form except when applying for an EWS flat;
- In case of joint application under SC/ST reserved category, the joint applicant should be from within the Family as defined above;
- In case of joint application under war widows, persons with disabilities’, ex-servicemen reserved categories, the applicant himself/herself should fall within the reserved category and the joint applicant should be from the Family as defined above.
Worth adding here is that the last DDA housing scheme was launched in 2019 when around 18,000 flats had been put up for sale. This was later reduced to 10,000 since the planning authority had a hard time finding buyers. Even though the agency received 45,000 applications they could only sell 8,438 flats.
