Applicants must be permanent residents of West Bengal, aged between 21 and 40, possess a valid Madhyamik certificate and be unemployed at the time of application.
The Banglar Yuva Sathi 2026 programme, announced in the state budget, provides a direct cash assistance of ₹1,500 per month to unemployed residents of West Bengal who meet specific age and education criteria.

Banglar Yuva Sathi is an welfare program launched by government of West Bengal that aim to stand beside Bengal’s young job-seekers. Banglar Yuva Sathi Prakalpa is open to the youth who are residents of West Bengal and are currently unemployment. Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme (বেকারদের যুব সাথী প্রকল্প) is a well-known scheme introduced by the government of West Bengal during the budget 2026-27. On 5th February 2026, Chief Minister of Bengal Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the Banglar Yuva Sathi Prakalpa to empower the young youth. The purpose of the scheme is to provide financial assistance as well as employment opportunities to young job-seekers. Under this scheme, every youth in the state between the aged of 21 and 40 years receives a monthly allowance of ₹1,500 until they gets a jonb.

Yuva Sathi Eligibility
The Yuva Sathi scheme will be given to individuals aged 21-40, and they must have passed secondary school until they secure employment.
In addition, the applicant must also be a resident of West Bengal to be eligible for the financial assistance.
Beneficiaries already receiving support under other West Bengal government welfare schemes will not be eligible.
This exclusion applies to schemes other than scholarship programmes.
Scholarship schemes such as Aikyasree, Medhasree, Sikhasree (smart card scheme), and Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Scholarship are exempt from this restriction.
Yuva Sathi Yojna: Documents needed
The applicant will have to submit photocopies of various documents, including bank’s passbook, ID proof, Class 10 certificates, and a passport-size photo, among others. After submission, applicants can track the status using the application ID or registered mobile number on the portal.
