YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus is intended to supply nutritious food exclusively in 77 Tribal areas covering 8,320 Anganwadi Centres, the remaining urban and rural areas will be covered under YSR Sampoorna Poshana. As many as 30.16 lakh pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children belonging to BPL families will be benefited from this initiative, where the State government is spending ₹1,863 Crore per annum.
The schemes involve an expenditure of ₹1,100 per beneficiary every month. In order to monitor the effective implementation , the Department of Women Development and Child Welfare has developed a comprehensive mobile application to assess the service delivery and satisfaction levels of the beneficiaries.

YSR Sampurna Poshana plus scheme
The scheme will be implemented in 8,320 Anganwadi Centers along with 8 ITDAs and 52 ICDS projects in 77 tribal and sub-plan mandals where 66,000 pregnant and postpartum women are provided with hot milk, rice, pulses, vegetables or greens, and eggs 25 days a month. Under the Take Home Nutrition Kit, 2 kg of multi-grain oatmeal, half a kg of peanut butter, jaggery in Araki and dried dates will be distributed. A total of Rs 87.12 crore will be spent on each beneficiary at the rate of Rs 1,100 per month.
1.64 lakh children under the age of 36 to 72 months are given 200 gms of hot rice, pulses, vegetables, celery, 200 ml of milk, egg and 50 grams of balamruttham laddu for 25 days in a month. The total cost is Rs 108.83 crore at a rate of Rs 553 per person. And for 1.50 lakh children between the ages of 6 and 36 months will be provided with 2.5 kg of infant formula, 30 ceggs and 6 liters of milk per month under the Take Home Nutrition Kit with a total of Rs 111.60 crore will be spent on each at a rate of Rs 620 per month and a total of Rs 307.55 crore will be spent on 3.80 lakh beneficiaries.
Benefits Of YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme
This plan will profit 27 lakh ladies and youngsters through 47,287 Anganwadi focus on the distribution of Rs. 1,555 crore. Eligibility Criteria for Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme
Interested applicants have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to avail this scheme –
- Only pregnant women and lactating mothers can apply to take advantage of this scheme.
- Children can also apply for this scheme. Each applicant should belong to the lower-income group or backward category.
- Only permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh are eligible to avail of this scheme. Candidates between the age of 6 to 72 months will get benefits under the scheme.
Enrollment Guidelines
Step by step enrolment process in AP Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme are given below –
- All children (6 months to 6 years), pregnant women, lactating mothers will be included in the AP Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme.
- Anganwadi workers will survey the Anganwadi Center (AWC) catchment area to enroll beneficiaries.
- All applicants will be registered with the Common Application Software (CAS) to monitor service delivery.
- Each child will be monitored (height and weight) at the Anganwadi center every month.
- AWW / Supervisor SUM / SAM / MAM will submit the list of children to ASHA / ANM / MO (PHC).
- Along with this, the weight of pregnant women will be examined in Anganwadi centers and its data will be kept.
- Pregnant women, lactating mothers will be made aware of the use of food-protein, energy-based take-home rations given to them without distribution among family members.
- All the survey details and the beneficiary list will be captured online by the Anganwadi Workers to provide the service delivery.
- The Anganwadi Workers perform the growth monitoring to the Pregnant and lactating women.
- The supervisors from AWS Centres will finalize the list of the eligible beneficiaries.
