First is where you set your base, and in a six-episode series, the show should move with certainty and self-assurance, if not with speed. But all is not lost, because there are good things about this second chapter in the Moon Knight world.

We meet a bewildered, out-of-his depth Steven once again (SPOILERS). He has been asked to leave his job, courtesy the mayhem at the museum the night before, events which dominated the latter half of the pilot. This episode also introduces us to Marc’s wife, Layla (May Calamawy), who is seen aiding Steven aka Marc in his quest to serve the banished Egyptian god of moon, Khonshu.

Marvel Moon Knight Episode 2

The much-anticipated Episode 2 of Marvel’s ‘Moon Knight’ is set to premiere on Disney Plus. Moon Knight, a miniseries developed by Jeremy Slater, premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar on March 30, 2022. Six episodes make up the mini-series.

Unlike many other shows, Marvel has chosen to release each episode of ‘Moon Knight’ on a weekly basis rather than all at once. Last week, the first episode aired on television. The release date and time for Moon Knight episode 2 are shown below.

The action scenes are fine, but some bit of the CGI felt flat, for instance, the part when Ethan Hawke’s Arthur is seen invoking the goddess Ammit. The crackling burst of electricity and light just did not do anything for me, which is a shame, since this was supposed to be a powerful moment. Oscar Isaac is an excellent actor, who does a good job of portraying the dissociative disorder our hero suffers from. The baggy, sleep-deprived eyes covered in dark circles, the panic, the confusion. Isaac gets every body language and detail down to the pat. You believe him.

Can’t quite figure out the songs that play across Moon Knight’s second episode? No need for Shazam, here is your Moon Knight season 1 episode 2 soundtrack breakdown:

  • “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by Bauhaus
  • “Every Grain of Sand” by Bob Dylan
  • “Fairlight” written by Mark Jonathan Garfield
  • “El Melouk” by Ahmed Saad featuring 3enba and Double Zuksh

It was yet another pretty stellar week for music lovers with a nice mix of songs from both iconic global artists and lesser-known artists to those here in the US. We particularly love that the creative team is using the series to give a platform to Egyptian artists such as Ahmed Saad and hope doing so will spark interest in these amazing artists.

We’ll be adding these four amazing songs to our Moon Knight playlist and don’t forget to check back weekly as we’ll be breaking out our Shazam app every week to add the latest episodic hits to our playlist.

Mohamed Diab Moon Knight

Marvel’s newest series, Moon Knight, now streaming on Disney+, I recently got to speak with director Mohamed Diab about making the series. During the interview, Diab talked about going into Marvel with his wife and a 200-page pitch, how Moon Knight holds the record for the least amount of additional photography in the history of Marvel, how they designed the two Moon Knight costumes worn in the series, deleted scenes, and if he’s heard about Moon Knight Season 2,

If you are not familiar with the series, Moon Knight follows Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac), a mild-mannered gift-shop employee at a London museum, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven soon discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector, a former U.S. Marine whose been given supernatural abilities by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. As Steven and Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Moon Knight also stars May Calamawy (Ramy), Gaspard Ulliel, and F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu. The series is directed by Diab (episodes 1, 3, 5 and 6) and Synchronic duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (episodes 2 and 4). It’s produced by Feige, along with Grant Curtis, Tommy Turtle and Jeremy Slater.
