Objective of Kerala Saranya Self Employment Scheme 2022
We all know that Kerala Saranya Self Employment Scheme 2022 has been started by the Government of Kerala for the women of the state. The main objective of this scheme by the state government is to provide loans to help the backward and marginalized women of Kerala. Under this scheme benefits will be provided to all those who belong to Scheduled Tribes such as windows, uneducated women, divorced women, etc. Through the Kerala Saranya Loan Scheme, the government is going to provide financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to set up a business. Out of this Rs. 50000, financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 will be provided by the Kerala Government as subsidy.
Features & Benefits Of Kerala Saranya Self Employment Scheme
- Under KERALA SARANYA SELF EMPLOYMENT SCHEME, the government provides an interest-free loan of up to Rs. 50,000 for starting self-employment ventures.
- out of this, the government reimburses 50% as Government subsidy subject to a maximum of Rs. 25,000/- through Employment Department. Repayment will be in 60 equal monthly installments.
- If the venture requires an amount above the limit of Rs.50000/, the applicant has to remit her beneficiary contribution of 10% of that amount. Moreover, the beneficiary has to remit 3% as interest at a flat rate for the amount she avails in excess of Rs. 50000/.
- For ventures that are running successfully and have repaid at least 50% of the loan amount, an additional loan amount subject to a maximum of 80% of the original loan amount at nominal interest rates is eligible for expanding the venture.
- This scheme mainly supports individual ventures, but it also helps to start joint ventures by more than one entrepreneur. Each person of this joint venture will get the maximum amount of loan and its subsidy.
- The beneficiary need not provide any security against the loan amount.
Who is eligible for SARANYA EMPLOYMENT SCHEME ?
As we have told you that only women candidates are eligible to avail of this scheme. However, the women who are fulfilling the following eligibility criteria are eligible to avail of this scheme-;
- All unemployed widows, divorced, deserted, spinsters above the age of 30, and unwedded mothers of Scheduled Tribe in the Live Register of Employment Exchanges between the age limit 18 – 55 except in the case of spinsters are eligible to apply for this scheme.
- Besides, the family annual income of all of them should be less than Rs 100000
- The definition of all the above-mentioned categories of women are as follows-;
Widow
Widows(wife of late) means the woman whose husband is deceased and she has not remarried to date. She needs to get the certificate from the Village Officer/President of the Grama Panchayath or Chairman of the Municipal Corporation or the Mayor of the Corporation as the case may be.
Divorced Women
A divorced woman means the woman who has been divorced through a court of law or through her religious organization. In order to prove this, she needs to obtain a Certificate from the Village Officer.
Deserted Women
Deserted means woman deserted by her husband/ woman whose husband is missing means woman whose husband is absconding or otherwise missing for the last seven years. Such woman should produce certificate from the Tahsildar to this effect and also that she has not remarried till date.
Spinster
Spinsters means unmarried woman means a woman who has completed the age of 30 years as on 1st April of the year of application and not yet married. In order to prove this, she needs to obtain a Certificate from the Village Officer
Unmarried
Unmarried mother means an unmarried mother who belongs to Scheduled Tribe Category means a woman who belongs to Scheduled Tribe Category and became a mother without having married. She needs to obtain the certificate to this effect from the Village Officer stating clearly the caste and community in the certificate.
