Modeled after Brigham Young University’s Especially for Youth program, FSY has been held internationally for more than 15 years.Registration opens this week for For the Strength of Youth conferences in the United States and Canada for summer 2023.

On a date later to be determined, registration will open for youth graduating in 2023 (must be no older than 18 by the last day of the selected session). At FSY, youth will associate with other youth who share their beliefs, learn to receive revelation and answers from the scriptures, be mentored by YSA counselors who teach and encourage them in gospel living, engage in activities that will bolster their self-esteem and increase their confidence, and more

The following is a general timeline of FSY registration dates, as found on the Church’s FSY website. All times are listed in Mountain Standard Time.If there is heavy web traffic during registration, youth will be placed in a queue before being allowed to register. The waiting time on Jan. 24–26 may be up to several hours. Most youth can wait to register until a week or two after registration has opened, when there will be less website traffic and shorter wait times. The exceptions to this are youth who have only one session that will work for their summer schedule. They are encouraged to register the day registration opens for their stake.
It is anticipated that there will be space for all invited youth to attend a session within their geographic area. For 2023, half the stakes in the United States and Canada are assigned to participate in the Church’s For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conferences. Can’t remember which year your stake is invited to attend? Or are you curious which FSY locations your stake has been assigned to? A letter from the Church was recently released with information for the 2023 conferences and stakes invited, as well as logistical information about registration for youth and young single adult counselors.

What is FSY?
For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conferences are modeled after Brigham Young University’s Especially for Youth (EFY) conferences. These five-day events have been held extensively outside the United States and Canada for several years. Youth may attend beginning in the year they turn 14 and until their high school graduation. Each stake will be invited every other year. FSY conferences include activities, devotionals, and classes designed to help strengthen faith in Jesus Christ and provide opportunities for youth to grow spiritually, socially, physically, and intellectually. Youth will attend the FSY session their ward has been assigned to attend. For information regarding which session your ward has been assigned, click here.
At what ages are youth eligible to participate in FSY?
Youth may attend FSYs scheduled for their stake beginning in the year they turn 14 and until their high school graduation. Each stake will be invited every other year. Youth in invited stakes who are graduating from high school and are no older than 18 by December 31 will be able to register at a later date than other youth.
How much will FSY cost?
Each youth will be asked to pay $75 USD ($100 CAD).
In addition, the stake or ward will pay $75 USD ($100 CAD) from the local unit budget allowance (LUBA) for each individual. The bishop may also use LUBA to help individuals when necessary. If desired, wards may use the annual fundraising effort to help offset the cost (see General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints [2020], 20.6.8, ChurchofJesusChrist.org). FSY is a high priority of the general leadership of the Church, and they have directed that FSY be available to all eligible youth and will, therefore, cover the majority of the conference cost.
