Bihar Government launch Migrant Registration and Return scheme ( Pravasi Majdur Yatra Panjikaran – COVID-19)
The Central ministry of Home affairs recently issued new guidelines for return of migrant workers , pilgrims, students tourists and other people stranded in different places of country during lockdown due to COVID-19, to their home states , and advised states to prepare hassle free plans for the same to avoid any kind of chaos. After this many states have started online registration process for migrants, which include Uttar Pradesh, Odisha ,Punjan and Bihar.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sushil Modi said that state government has arranged special trains for 25 lakh migrants stranded in different places of country and want to return to state.After the guidelines issued by central ministry of Home affairs on movement of migrants amid Lockdown, Bihar state Chief Minister Sri Nitish Kumar launched Bihar migrant workers online registration scheme for citizens of Bihar so that they can return to their hometown.
The migrants from Bihar who want to return to their hometowns have to fill-up a mandatory Registration form on Bihar Government official portal www.labour.bih.nic.in . Mr.Sushil Modi( Deputy Chief Minister Bihar) stated that we are not in position to provide road transport for such large number of migrants. The government has arranged only non-stop train facility to bring back migrant workers to the Bihar state, the train will not stop at any other station.Registration of migrants is mandatory day before returning to the state.

The main objective behind the registration is smooth facilitation for returning of almost 25 lac migrants from Bihar who have been stranded in different parts of the country amid nationwide lockdown which is now been extended to 17 th May 2020. Many migrant workers want to return to their hometown due to unavailability of the work and prevaiy uncertainty due to COVID-19 pandemic. The scheme will help these people including students pilgrims tourist and other people who could not return to their homes due to sudden announcement of lockdown on 23 rd March 2020

The train transport facility will be provided only to the citizens of Bihar no other state citizens will be allowed to travel to Bihar
