Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Thursday announced “Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana” wherein the urban and district cooperative banks and credit societies in the state will provide Rs 5,000 crore as loans to small entrepreneurs and businessmen here at an interest rate of two per cent.
The government is also giving a moratorium on payment of the principal amount and interest for the first six months on the loans that will have be repaid in three years.the state government is announcing a “Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana” under which more than 10 lakh people will take advantage,” said Rupani.
For small people like electricians, ‘dhobi’ and shopkeepers, the other states have announced an assistance of only Rs 5,000… The government has decided to give Rs 1 lakh as loan on two per cent annual interest to them which was lower than 12 per cent rate of interest in the market.

Loans under the “Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana” would be available at 2% annual interest while the remaining 6% interest would be borne by the state government. A moratorium period of 6 months would also be provided to the beneficiary in which he would not be required to pay either interest of principal amount during this time. It means that the re-payment of principal and interest will start after six months of sanction. The loans under the “Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana” would be available via written application at co-operative banks, district banks and credit co-operative societies.

Applicants must be a citizen of Gujarat and hold the domicile of Gujarat.
Candidates who want to apply for the scheme must belong to BPL category (Below Poverty Line) category.
All those aspirants can submit the application form who have their small scale business such as grocery seller, electrician, mechanic, shop owner, etc.

The state government has launched Atmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme for the following group of people as mentioned below
The application forms for Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana will be available at more than 9000 places including about 1000 District Co-operative bank branches, 1400 urban co-operative bank branches and more than 7000 credit societies. Loans will be given by state cooperative bank, 18 district cooperative banks, 217 urban cooperative banks and credit societies.
The dully filled application form can be submitted at any of the branches of the District Co-operative banks, urban co-operative banks and credit societies in Gujarat along with the required documents.
