The Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched the artificial intelligence (AI)-based Aatmanirbhar Skilled Employee-Employer Mapping or ASEEM portal. The digital platform will help the skilled workforce find suitable and sustainable job opportunities.The portal is expected to bridge the demand and supply gap in the skilled workforce market by improving the information flow. The AI-based platform has also been envisioned to help strengthen the career path of the skilled workforce by guiding them as they attain industry-relevant skills.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) today launched ‘Aatmanirbhar Skilled Employee Employer Mapping (ASEEM)’ portal to help skilled people find sustainable livelihood opportunities.Apart from recruiting a skilled workforce that spurs business competitiveness and economic growth, the Artificial Intelligence-based platform has been envisioned to strengthen their career pathways by handholding them through their journeys to attain industry-relevant skills and explore emerging job opportunities, especially in the post Covid-19 era.

The ASEEM portal will map details of workers based on regions and local industry demands and will bridge demand-supply gap of skilled workforce across sectors.ASEEM portal is a skill management information system which will provide employers a platform to assess the availability of skilled workforce and formulate their hiring plans. It refers to all the data, trends and analytics which describe the workforce market and map demand of skilled workforce to supply.
New Update– ASEEM job portal saw the registration of over 69 lakh individuals in just 40 days, with the number of individuals who got jobs being a fraction of those who registered.As per data collated by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship on its ASEEM (Aatmanirbhar Skilled Employee Employer Mapping) portal, only 2 per cent of the 3.7 lakh candidates looking for jobs have managed to get one.

ASEEM Portal 2021 Registration
- First of all, you have to go to the official website of the ASEEM Portal. After this, the home page of the website will open in front of you.
- On the home page of the website, you have to click on the option of “For Candidates“. After this you will be redirected to Google Play Store, here you will see an option to download the ASEEM app.
- Here you have to click on the install button to install this app on your mobile phone.
- In this way the ASEEM Mobile App will be installed in your mobile phone.
ASEEM Portal Registration for Employers
Even the employers can also make registration at the ASEEM portal to hire candidates. For this purpose, employers will have to visit the same official website at smis.nsdcindia.org and at the homepage, click at the “For Employers” tab or directly click the link here : https://hire-nsdc.betterplace.co.in/login. Upon clicking this link, the ASEEM Portal Registration page for Employers will appear as shown below.
Here employers who are new to SMIS can make registration by clicking “Register Now” tab and fill the registration form. However, existing SMIS employers can make login directly and start hiring candidates.
